Blade of stainless steel 440C. Illustration depicted on one side is of a scene of the battle Marathon in 490 fought between the citizens of Athens, aided by Plataea, and a Persian force commanded by Datis and Artaphernes. Additional decoration with engraved and gilded ornaments on both sides of the blade.
The handle is made of birch burl, with one finger groove. Brass made and the gilded guard and pommel with decorative ball ending. Ornamental adornment.
